Skip Bins Brisbane Northside – Fast, Affordable and Reliable Skip Bin Hire

Our depot sits at Fitzgibbon, which puts most of the northside within a short run. That's the practical reason we can usually get a bin to Chermside, Aspley or Bracken Ridge the same day when other operators are quoting tomorrow.

What the northside actually throws out

The inner northside

Through Wooloowin, Windsor, Gordon Park and Lutwyche it's mostly pre-war Queenslanders. Renovation waste from these is heavier on timber, VJ lining and old flooring than the newer suburbs, and the blocks are narrow. A 4m³ usually fits but a 6m³ often won't, particularly on the streets where the driveway runs down the side of the house.

Chermside, Aspley, Geebung and Zillmere

Largely post-war brick and tile now cycling through second and third renovations. Bathrooms and kitchens dominate. The 4m³ is our busiest bin here by a wide margin.

The Gap, Ferny Hills, Ferny Grove and Keperra

These produce green waste at a rate that surprises people. Large blocks with mature gums and established gardens generate enormous volumes once pruning starts, and branches take up far more room than their weight suggests. Cut them short before loading or you'll waste half the bin on air.

Bracken Ridge, Taigum, Fitzgibbon and Boondall

A mix of established homes and newer infill, so we see both renovation waste and construction waste from new builds.

Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield

Larger renovation projects and landscaping, where access is often the constraint rather than volume. Steep driveways and mature street trees limit what the truck can place.

Working this side of the river every day, patterns show up that are worth knowing when you're estimating a job.

Access on northside blocks

Two things stop northside deliveries more than anything else.

Overhead clearance. Mature street trees through the inner northside and the Ashgrove side of the city hang low over driveways. The truck needs clear space above the drop point to swing the bin off. Have a look up before you book.

Steep or narrow driveways. A lot of northside housing sits on a slope. Bins need a reasonably level, solid surface, and a steeply pitched driveway can be a problem for both placement and collection. If you're unsure, send us a photo and we'll tell you straight away.

If the driveway won't work, the alternative is placing the bin on the street with a Brisbane City Council permit. Allow a few business days and the council will want the operator's public liability details. We can help with the application.

Waste types accepted

  • Household waste, including furniture, whitegoods, mattresses, clothing and the contents of a shed.
  • Garden waste, including branches, clippings, leaves, shrubs and palm fronds.
  • Renovation waste, including timber, plasterboard, tiles, flooring and cabinetry.
  • Construction waste, including concrete, brick, rubble, roofing material and scrap metal.
  • Commercial waste, including office furniture, fit-out material, packaging and warehouse clean-outs.

Asbestos, liquid paint, chemicals, gas bottles, batteries and tyres can't go in any bin. Worth flagging on the northside specifically: a lot of the pre-1990 housing stock contains bonded asbestos in eaves, bathroom sheeting and under vinyl. If you're renovating an older home, get it tested before demolition rather than after.

FAQs – skip bins Brisbane Northside

How fast can you deliver to the northside? +

Same day is common on bookings before midday, since our depot is at Fitzgibbon.

Will a 6m³ fit on a narrow inner northside driveway? +

Often not. A 6m³ is about 3 metres long and needs width for the truck as well. A 4m³ is the safer choice on tight blocks.

Do I need a council permit? +

Only if the bin goes on the road, footpath or nature strip. On your own driveway, no.

Can you deliver to a Queenslander with a steep driveway? +

Sometimes. Send a photo when you book and we'll assess it before dispatching a truck.

What's the best bin for a big green waste job in The Gap? +

A green waste only bin, and cut branches short so they pack flat. It's the cheapest category we run.

Do you service Albany Creek and Bridgeman Downs? +

Yes, both are within our regular northside run.

What happens if my driveway is soft or unsealed? +

A loaded bin will sink into soft ground and can't be collected until it dries. Tell us the surface when you book.
