Skippy Bins Brisbane is an independent local operator, not affiliated with any similarly named company. Here is how our bin types compare and which one suits how you will actually load it.
If you're weighing up kart away skip bins against other Brisbane operators, the thing worth comparing isn't just price per cubic metre. It's whether the bin type suits how you'll actually load it.
We run our own fleet across South East Queensland, quote delivery and collection inside the price, and match the bin to the job rather than to the biggest number on the list. Same day delivery is available on most bookings placed before midday.
A word on the very large bins advertised elsewhere. Some operators list hook lift bins up to 30m³ and above. They're real, but they're specialist equipment for industrial sites with the room and the surface to take them, and they're rarely the right answer for a residential block. Our range tops out at 9m³, which covers everything short of a full commercial demolition. If your job genuinely needs more than that, ring us and we'll tell you honestly rather than sell you three bins.
The 2m³ and 3m³. Small footprint, quick to fill, and the cheapest way to shift a modest volume. Good for garden work, single rooms and small strip-outs.
The 4m³ and 6m³ configured for light building waste. Timber, plasterboard, insulation, tiles, offcuts and packaging. Priced for construction material rather than household waste.
For concrete, brick, tile and soil. These are priced around weight because that's what governs the disposal cost. A 4m³ heavy waste bin will hit its limit before it looks full, and that's normal.
Organic garden material only. Cheapest category we run because the material gets composted rather than landfilled. Contaminate it with treated timber or a bag of household rubbish and the whole load gets reclassified.
The 9m³, for demolition, multi-room renovations and commercial fit-out removals. Needs solid ground and clear overhead access.
Loading a bin is harder than people expect, particularly with heavy material. Lifting broken concrete over a 1.2 metre wall a hundred times is a genuinely bad afternoon.
Where the site allows it, a bin with rear door access lets you wheelbarrow straight in at ground level. It makes a big difference on concrete, soil, brick and anything else you can't comfortably lift over the side. It also reduces the risk of someone hurting their back on your job site, which matters more if you're the one responsible for the site.
Ask about door access when you book rather than assuming. Not every bin in the fleet has it, and availability varies by size and by day.
A few worked examples, because the abstract version never helps as much as the specific one.
Tiles, vanity, screen, bath, plasterboard and fittings. A 4m³ light building waste bin covers it. The tiles push the weight up more than people expect, so don't also throw in a load of soil from the garden.
This is two waste streams, not one. Branches, shrubs and turf go in a green waste bin. Excavated soil goes in a heavy waste bin. Mixing them means the whole load is priced as mixed heavy, which is the dearest category on the list.
Broken concrete only, in a concrete bin, ideally with rear door access so it can be wheelbarrowed in. Expect the bin to look half empty when it hits its weight limit. That's normal and it's not a sign you've been short-changed.
Furniture, whitegoods, boxes and general clutter. Bulky and light, so a 6m³ or 9m³ general waste bin. This is the job where booking too small costs the most, because the whole point is emptying the house before a deadline.

A bin with a rear door that drops down so you can wheelbarrow material in at ground level instead of lifting it over the side. Best for heavy waste and long loading sessions.
A dedicated heavy waste or concrete bin. Concrete is around 2,400kg per cubic metre and has its own recycling pathway, so keeping it clean and separate is both cheaper and better.
