Old furniture, mattresses, whitegoods, general household rubbish and garage clean-outs.

Garden waste

Tree branches, leaves, grass clippings, shrubs and green waste. Keep soil, treated timber and plastic pots out if you've booked a green waste bin.

Renovation waste

Timber, plasterboard, tiles, cabinets and flooring materials. This is light building waste, priced between household and heavy.

Construction waste

Concrete, bricks, rubble, roofing materials and scrap metal. Heavy waste, priced around tonnage.

Commercial waste

Office furniture, retail fit-out waste, warehouse clean-outs and packaging materials.

Not accepted in any bin: asbestos, liquid paint, solvents, pesticides, motor oil, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, batteries, tyres and clinical waste.

Projects suitable for skip bin hire

Skip bin sizes available

2m³ skip bin

Small household clean-ups, garden waste, DIY projects. About 8 to 10 wheelie bins.

3m³ to 4m³ skip bins

Kitchen and bathroom renovations, furniture removal, garage clean-outs. The 4m³ is our most booked size.

6m³ skip bins

Building waste, large renovations, commercial projects, roofing material. Around 24 to 28 wheelie bins.

9m³ skip bins

Our largest bin. Demolition, factory and warehouse clean-ups, large construction sites and multi-room renovations.

Rear door access bins

Available on selected bins. The rear door drops open so you can wheelbarrow heavy material in at ground level instead of lifting it over the side. Worth asking about for concrete, brick and soil.

How to choose the right skip bin

Four steps, and none of them take long.

  • Estimate the volume. Walk the job with a rough count in wheelie bin loads. A standard kerbside bin is 240 litres, so about four and a bit of them per cubic metre. Add twenty percent to whatever number you land on, because everyone underestimates.
  • Work out the waste type. This affects the price more than the size does. Household waste, green waste, light building waste, mixed heavy, concrete and soil are all disposed of at different rates. Match the bin to the load honestly.
  • Check the weight, not just the volume. Soil runs about 1,500kg per cubic metre, concrete about 2,400kg. A 4m³ of either is several tonnes, which is well past a general waste allowance. If heavy material is going in, say so at the booking stage.
  • Look at the site. Where's the bin going? Is the surface solid and level? Is there anything overhead at the drop point? Can the truck get in and out? A bin that can't be placed is a wasted delivery, and a bin sunk into wet lawn can't be collected until the ground dries.

If you'd rather just describe the job, ring us and we'll size it for you. We do this every day, and we'd rather get it right the first time than sell you a second bin.

Same day skip bin hire across Brisbane

Same day delivery is available on most bookings made before midday. Availability depends on the day's run and the size you need, and smaller bins are easier to place at short notice than the 9m³.

We also handle emergency bookings for storm clean-ups, flood damage and end of lease deadlines. Collection can be brought forward at no charge once you're finished.

Responsible waste recycling and disposal

Loads are sorted at licensed facilities before anything reaches landfill. Concrete and brick become recycled aggregate. Timber is mulched or processed as fuel. Metals go to scrap recyclers. Green waste is composted. Cardboard and some plastics are recovered where the load allows it.

Separating your waste streams improves the recovery rate and usually lowers your cost at the same time, because clean loads have lower disposal fees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you affiliated with Bbins? +

No. Skippy Bins Brisbane is an independent local operator. This page is for people comparing Brisbane options.

What's included in the price? +

Delivery, the hire period and collection. Excess weight and extended hire are the only add-ons, and we'll explain both before you book.

Can I book a bin for the weekend? +

Weekend schedules are reduced but we do run them. Ring to check your date.

How do I know if my driveway will take a 6m³? +

A 6m³ is about 3 metres long and will use most of a single driveway width. If you're unsure, send us a photo of the space.

What happens to prohibited items if I put them in? +

The facility can reject or reclassify the load, and that cost is passed back. Asbestos carries a much bigger problem than a fee.

Do you offer trade accounts? +

Yes, with ongoing swap schedules for builders, landscapers and property managers.
