Affordable skip bin hire Brisbane

Why choose Magic Bins Brisbane alternatives from Skippy Bins

  • Affordable and transparent pricing with delivery and collection included.
  • Fast delivery and collection, with same day available on most bookings before midday.
  • A local Brisbane operator running our own trucks.
  • Simple booking by phone or online, usually a couple of minutes.
  • Flexible hire periods, extended by the day if your job runs over.

Skip bin sizes available

  • 2m³ bins for small clean-ups, about 8 to 10 wheelie bins worth
  • 3m³ bins for light renovations and garage clear-outs
  • 4m³ bins for medium projects, including bathroom renovations
  • 6m³ bins for construction waste and kitchen renovations
  • 9m³ bins for large jobs, demolition and commercial strip-outs

Choosing between them is mostly about honest estimation. Walk the job, count it in wheelie bin loads, add twenty percent, then pick the size above your number. Nearly everyone underestimates, and a second bin costs far more than the gap between two sizes.

Skip bins – what we do with your waste disposal

This is the question we get asked least and should get asked most. Magic Bins Brisbane customers, and everyone else comparing operators, tend to assume a skip bin is a one way trip to landfill. It isn't.

When we collect a bin, the load goes to a transfer station or materials recovery facility rather than straight to a hole in the ground. There it gets sorted.

  • Metals are pulled out and sold to scrap recyclers. Steel, copper and aluminium all have established markets, and this happens on almost every mixed load.
  • Concrete, brick and tile get crushed into recycled aggregate and road base. This is why a clean concrete load is cheaper to dispose of than the same material mixed through general waste. There's a buyer at the other end.
  • Timber is either mulched or processed for use as a fuel product in industrial applications. Treated and painted timber is handled separately because it can't be mulched into garden products.
  • Green waste is composted into mulch and soil conditioner. It's the cleanest and cheapest stream in the industry, which is why a green waste only bin is priced below a general waste bin of the same size.
  • Cardboard, paper and some plastics are recovered where the load allows it.

What's left after all that goes to engineered landfill.

The practical takeaway: how you fill the bin changes how much of it gets recycled. A bin of pure green waste goes straight to composting. The same green waste mixed with plasterboard and old carpet has to be picked over by hand or machine, and a good portion of the recoverable material is lost in the process. Segregating isn't just an environmental nicety. It's usually cheaper too.

What this means for your bill

The recovery pathways above aren't just background information. They're the reason your quote changes when you change the waste type.

Green waste is cheapest because compost has a buyer. Concrete is cheap per tonne when it's clean because crushed aggregate has a buyer. General mixed waste is dearest because someone has to sort it and a share of it ends up in landfill anyway, where the Queensland waste levy applies.

So the practical advice is the same as the environmental advice, which doesn't happen often. Sort what you reasonably can. If your job produces a big pile of clean green waste and a smaller pile of everything else, two targeted bins frequently come in under one large mixed bin. Below about 4m³ total it usually isn't worth the extra delivery, but above that it's worth running the numbers. Tell us the volumes and we'll quote both ways so you can see the difference.

How much does magic bin hire or skip bin hire cost in Brisbane? +

Size, waste type and suburb set the price. Green waste is the cheapest category and mixed heavy the dearest. Call us with the details and you'll get a delivered price.

Count your waste in wheelie bin loads and use the size guide above. Between two sizes, go up.
