Skippy Bins Brisbane is an independent local operator, not affiliated with any similarly named company. Here is the full guide to sizes, waste types, delivery and cost.
Old furniture, mattresses, appliances, general household junk and the contents of a garage clean-out. Whitegoods are fine, though fridges and air conditioners containing refrigerant gas need the gas recovered by a licensed technician first.
Tree branches, leaves, grass clippings, shrubs, palm fronds and green waste generally. Soil is not green waste, despite what most people assume, and it needs its own category.
Timber, plasterboard, tiles, flooring, cabinets, and bathroom and kitchen demolition waste. This is light building waste, and it's priced separately from both household and heavy waste.
Concrete, bricks, rubble, roofing materials and scrap metal. Heavy, and priced accordingly. Clean concrete kept separate is cheaper than concrete mixed through a general load.
Office furniture, shop fit-out waste, packaging materials and warehouse clean-outs. Bulky, light, and ideal for a large bin.
Home renovations. Moving house. Spring cleaning. Property clean-ups. Garden landscaping. Building and construction work. Office renovations. Retail strip-outs. Deceased estate clean-outs. Rental property clean-ups between tenancies.
The two that catch people out on size are moving house and deceased estates. A family home occupied for fifteen years or more holds far more than the owners think, and the pile grows once wardrobes and the roof cavity get emptied.
Suitable for small household clean-ups, garden waste and minor DIY projects. Around 8 to 10 wheelie bins worth. Footprint of a small car, so it fits any driveway.
Suitable for bathroom renovations, kitchen refreshes, household furniture removal and garage clean-outs. The 4m³ is our most booked size, at roughly 16 to 20 wheelie bins.
Suitable for large home renovations, roofing waste, construction waste and commercial projects. Around 24 to 28 wheelie bins. Takes up most of a single driveway.
Our largest. Suitable for demolition projects, multi-room renovations, factory and warehouse clean-ups and large commercial sites. Needs a solid level surface and clear overhead access.
Where available, a bin with a rear door that drops open lets you wheelbarrow material straight in at ground level. It makes heavy loading far easier and far safer than lifting over a 1.2 metre wall. Ask about availability when you book, since not every bin has it.
Some operators advertise bins up to 30m³. Those are hook lift bins for industrial sites, and on a normal Brisbane block there's rarely room to place one, let alone room for the truck to work around it.
Same day delivery is available on most bookings placed before midday, subject to the day's schedule and the size you need. Small and mid sized bins have the best availability.
We also handle urgent bookings for end of lease deadlines, property handovers and storm clean-ups, and we'll bring a collection forward at no charge if you fill the bin early. Weekend availability is reduced but not absent, so ring and ask.
To give yourself the best chance: call rather than book online, be flexible on the delivery window, and clear the drop point before the truck arrives.
Booking the wrong size is the most expensive mistake in this whole process, and it's entirely avoidable.
Too small and you need a second bin. That's another delivery, another collection and another disposal fee, which almost always costs more than the difference between two sizes would have.
Too large and you've paid for air. Less painful, but still money gone.
The other cost is time. If your bin fills on day two of a four day renovation, work either stops or waste starts piling up on the floor. A site with debris on the ground is slower and more dangerous than a clear one.
Our approach is simple. Tell us what you're getting rid of, room by room if it helps, and we'll suggest a size. We'd rather you booked correctly the first time than paid us twice.
Loads go to licensed facilities where they're sorted before anything is landfilled. Metals are separated for scrap recycling. Concrete and brick are crushed into recycled aggregate and road base. Timber is mulched or processed as a fuel product. Green waste is composted into mulch and soil conditioner. Cardboard and some plastics are recovered where the load allows.
How you fill the bin changes how much of that actually happens. A clean single stream load goes straight to its recovery process. A mixed load has to be picked over, and a share of the recoverable material is lost.
We deliver to roughly 315 suburbs across South East Queensland: Brisbane northside and southside, Logan, Ipswich, the Redlands and Cleveland, Caboolture, Redcliffe, the northern Gold Coast corridor and Toowoomba.
Count your waste in wheelie bin loads, add about twenty percent, and match it to the sizes above. If you land between two, take the larger one.
Standard hire covers a typical residential job. Extensions are available per day if you call before the collection date.
Asbestos, liquid paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, motor oil, fuel, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, car and lithium batteries, tyres, and medical or clinical waste.
Yes, on most bookings placed before midday, subject to availability.
Yes, with a council permit. On your own driveway you don't need one.
Only for placement on a road, footpath or nature strip. Brisbane City Council, Logan, Ipswich, Redland and Moreton Bay each run their own process and fee, and they'll want the operator's public liability details. Allow a few business days.
It depends on size, waste type and suburb. Green waste is the cheapest category and mixed heavy the dearest. Call for a delivered price rather than working off a range.
