The cheapest quote and the best value aren't always the same thing. A bin that turns up a day late on a job with tradies booked in costs you more than the $40 you saved.
Roughly 8 to 10 wheelie bins worth. Good for a single room clear-out, a couple of mattresses and some boxes, or a weekend of pruning. Takes up about the footprint of a small car on your driveway.
Around 12 to 14 wheelie bins. This is the size for a garage that's been collecting things for a few years, a laundry or ensuite strip-out, or a decent garden tidy with shrub removal.
Our most requested size, and the one that suits a full bathroom renovation including the vanity, screen and tiles. Also handles a double garage clean-out or a medium landscaping job.
A 6m³ bin covers a kitchen renovation with cabinetry, benchtops and flooring. The 9m³ is for multi-room renovations, property clear-outs before a sale, and trade sites where a smaller bin would need swapping twice a week.
If you're stuck between two sizes, take the bigger one. The gap between a 3m³ and a 4m³ is usually $50 to $70. A second bin because the first one filled up is another few hundred.
What can't go in any bin: asbestos, liquid paint, chemicals, gas bottles, car batteries and tyres. Asbestos in particular has to go through a licensed removalist under Queensland law, and no skip bin operator can take it.
Moving house, clearing a deceased estate, or finally dealing with the shed. A budget bin sits on the driveway and you fill it at your own pace instead of doing six trips to the transfer station.
Green waste bins are cheaper than general waste because the material gets mulched rather than landfilled. Keep soil and treated timber out and you'll keep the price down. One tip from experience: load green waste close to your collection day if rain is forecast. Wet clippings can weigh double.
Have the bin delivered the day before demolition starts. Tradies work faster on a clear site, and you're not paying someone $80 an hour to step around a pile of plasterboard.

Not always. We keep our budget bins Brisbane pricing low by running our own trucks and keeping the office small. Some operators advertise a low headline price and add delivery, collection and a short hire period on top.
Standard hire covers most residential jobs. If your project runs long, tell us before the collection date and we'll extend it. Extensions are charged per day and they're modest.
Only if the bin goes on the road, footpath or nature strip. On your own driveway, no permit is needed. We can help with the council application if you need the street.
The load gets weighed at the facility and the excess is charged per tonne. This catches people out with soil, concrete and wet green waste. Tell us what's going in and we'll put you in the right bin type so it doesn't happen.
